Sunnyboys were a staple in Australian schools in summer. They represented fun, summer days and laughter.
Buying a Sunnyboy from the school canteen (or tuck shop, depending on where you live), took the entire lunch to get through it all! And if I bit into a corner that had only partially frozen where all the flavour was concentrated most, it was like winning the lottery!
Kids all across the country would be scraping their front teeth across the frozen orange triangle-shaped ice block, with the awkward shape slipping and sliding in their hands. (Sunnyboy was orange flavoured and we also had Glug cola or a Razz raspberry).
This is a study for my 'After School Delights' collection. This series reminds me of a time that was so much fun, so carefree and full of adventure and curiousity.
It inspires me to bring more of that back into my life! I hope it does the same for you.

Please note this one has a small tear in the top left corner as I was working a bit too vigorously!
