chupar = Spanish verb meaning "to suck"
In the early 1950s, Enric Bernat worked for an apple jam factory called "Granja Asturias". He suggested they make lollipops and when the owners up and left, Enric took over the company in 1958 and made his lollipop dream come true!
In 1969 surrealist artist Salvador Dali designed the Chupa Chup logo that we know today!

Chupa Chups arrived in Australia in the 1970s - for kids and adults.   They kept kids quiet and adults distracted smoking cigarettes!

This is a study for my 'After School Delights' series which inspires me to bring more fun, adventure and curiousity back into my life! I hope it does the same for you.
